Salmeterol and Fluticasone Propionate rotacaps are used by patients suffering from characteristic symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchitis and emphysema such as shortness of breath, tightness of the chest and wheezing.

Seroflo Rotacaps Dosage - How to Use Seroflo Rotacaps?
You should use Seroflo Rotacaps exactly as suggested by your doctor. The starting dose of Seroflo Rotacaps in patients who are 12 years old and above is dependent on the severity of their asthmatic condition.
The recommended dosage of Seroflo Rotacaps in asthma patients who are at least 12 years old is one inhalation, administered twice daily (preferably in the morning and evening) with a gap of 12 hours in between both the doses.
The maximum recommended dosage of Salmeterol and Fluticasone Propionate in asthma patients is 500 mcg Fluticasone Propionate /50 mcg Salmeterol, administered twice daily. The recommended dosage of Seroflo Rotacaps in asthma patients between the ages of 4 years and 11 years is one inhalation of 100 mcg Fluticasone Propionate /50 mcg Salmeterol, administered twice daily (preferably in the morning and evening) with a gap of 12 hours in between both the doses. The recommended dosage of Seroflo Rotacaps in COPD patients who are at least 12 years old is one inhalation of 250 mcg Fluticasone Propionate /50 mcg Salmeterol, administered twice daily (preferably in the morning and evening) with a gap of 12 hours in between both the doses.
The contents of Seroflo Rotacaps should not be swallowed and should strictly only be inhaled using the special Cipla Rotahaler. While taking out one Seroflo Rotacap from the pack, tear out the foil and tap the pack to let the capsule out without touching it with your hands. Avoid cutting the foil or using any sharp object to take out the capsule. Do not take out a Seroflo Rotacap from its intact pack until you are ready to use it. If other capsules in the pack come in contact with the environment when you are removing a Seroflo Rotacap capsule for use, it must be thrown away. Do not preserve the capsule for future usage.
After removing Seroflo Rotacap from the pack, it must instantly be placed in a special inhaler device. The device will crush the capsule so that the content inside the capsule can be easily inhaled into the lungs through the mouthpiece. While using the inhalation device, make sure that you exhale gently and deeply. Avoid breathing into the mouthpiece of the inhaler while administering the Seroflo Rotacap.
Place the mouthpiece of the inhaler between your lips and try to maintain your tongue in a flat and steady position, while keeping your head straight. When you take a slow and deep breath, you should hear or feel the capsule pulsate inside the inhaler. Contraindications

Overdose

The signs and symptoms of Salmeterol overdose are tremor, headache and tachycardia. The preferred antidotes are cardioselective beta-blocking agents, which should be used with caution in patients with a history of bronchospasm. If Seroflo Rotacaps therapy has to be withdrawn due to overdose of the beta agonist component of the drug, provision of appropriate replacement steroid therapy should be considered. Additionally, hypokalaemia can occur and potassium replacement should be considered.
Acute: Acute inhalation of fluticasone propionate doses in excess of those recommended may lead to temporary suppression of adrenal function. This does not need emergency action as adrenal function is recovered in a few days, as verified by plasma cortisol measurements.
