The active ingredient present in Nicorette Gum is Nicotine Polacrilex. Each Nicorette Gum contains Nicotine Polacrilex equivalent to 2 mg or 4 mg of Nicotine.
The inactive ingredients in Nicorette Gum are acesulfame potassium, gum base, magnesium oxide, menthol, peppermint oil, sodium bicarbonate, and sodium carbonate, xylitol, sodium.

Nicorette Gum Dosage - How to Chew Generic Nicotine Gum?

You should use Generic Nicotine Gum (Nicorette Gum) exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor may recommend a dosage of Nicorette Gum based on the severity of your medical condition, body weight, other medical conditions, and current medications.
Avoid the consumption of food and water about 15 minutes before the administration of Nicorette Gum or even while you chew a piece of Nicorette Gum. Avoid swallowing Nicorette Gum. Keep Nicorette Gum handy with you at all times, because you may need to use it whenever a deep craving for smoking cigarettes occurs.
On the occurrence of such smoking urges, chew 1 piece of Nicorette Gum. Place the piece of Nicorette Gum in your mouth and chew it slowly. You can bite the gum once or twice and then hold the gum between your cheek and tongue. You can repeat this step after one minute. Continue chewing the same Nicorette Gum in this manner for about 30 minutes.
If were smoking 25 or more than 25 cigarettes a day, then you should use the 4mg Nicorette Gum. If you were smoking less than 25 cigarettes day, you can begin the course of treatment with the 2 mg Nicorette Gum. The course of treatment with Nicorette Gum is usually prescribed for 12 weeks. For the first six weeks, the patient can use one piece of Nicorette Gum every 1-2 hours.
Between weeks 7-9, the patient can use one piece of Nicorette Gum every 2-4 hours. During weeks 10-12, the patient can further reduce the consumption to one piece of Nicorette Gum every 4-8 hours. You can continue the treatment with Nicorette Gum until your craving to smoke diminishes or until the time your cravings can be fulfilled by chewing 1 to 2 pieces of gum per day. The maximum recommended dosage of Nicorette Gum is 24 pieces per day.
It is essential that you complete the recommended course of treatment with Nicorette Gum even if you feel better. Do not discontinue the course of treatment with Nicorette Gum because it may result in the development of unpleasant withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, craving, impaired concentration, increased appetite, irritability, nervousness, sleep disturbances, and weight gain.

Missed Dose
