Flonida Cream Mechanism of Action – How Does Fluorouracil Topical Cream Work?
Fluorouracil Topical Cream is an antineoplastic agent, which belongs to the class of medications called as antimetabolite. Flonida Cream is a medication that is used for the treatment of skin conditions which are characterized by the presence of rapidly multiplying cells, for example, skin cells which have become cancerous. During cell division, each cell must pass on its DNA to each of its daughter cells.
DNA is an essential building block for a cell because it contains the genetic material that regulates the working and different activities of cells. Fluorouracil prevents the formation of DNA molecules. In the absence of DNA, cells cannot multiply and as a result, the cells will eventually die. Over a period of treatment time with Fluorouracil Topical Cream, the cancerous cells will be unable to synthesize DNA and will undergo death.
