What is Tugain Foam Used For?

Tugain Foam, manufactured by Cipla Ltd. in the strength of 2 %w/v, 5 %w/v, and 10 %w/v of Minoxidil, is a medication which is used for the stimulation of hair growth in male patients who are suffering from a hair growth condition called pattern baldness.
The active ingredient in Tugain Foam is Minoxidil, which belongs to a group of medications known as vasodilators. Tugain Foam is only intended for topical administration.
Treatment with Minoxidil Foam should be used lifelong to maintain the growth of existing hair follicles and also to sustain the re-growth of hair. Tugain Foam cannot be used for the treatment of receding hair line in men, a condition in which men there is hair loss or visible baldness at the front portion of the head. Women can use Tugain Foam 2% w/v for the treatment of hair growth if they are suffering from hair thinning problems.
Tugain Foam should only be used by patients who are at least 18 years old. Tugain Foam cannot be used for the treatment of sudden patchy hair loss or unexplained hair loss in patients who do not have a family history of hair loss conditions.

Tugain Foam Dosage - How to Apply Minoxidil Foam?

Generic Minoxidil Foam should be used exactly as suggested by your doctor. Your doctor may suggest a dosage depending on your medical condition, age, body weight, other medical conditions, and other current medications.
The recommended dosage of Minoxidil Foam is half a capful of Tugain Foam, applied twice a day as suggested by your doctor. Gently rub Tugain Foam into the area of treatment until the cream is uniformly spread. Wash your hands immediately after using Minoxidil Foam.

Missed Dose

If you miss your regular dose of Minoxidil Foam, apply it as soon as you remember. You can continue your regular schedule the next day.
If you remember the missed dose of Minoxidil Foam the next day, apply the cream as per your regular dosing schedule and skip the missed dose. Do not administer a double dose to compensate the missed dose of Minoxidil Foam.
