Dexona Tablets Indications - What is Dexamethasone Used For?

Dexona tablets, manufactured by Zydus Cadila in the strength of 0.5 mg, is a synthetic corticosteroid which acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent. Dexona tablets contain Dexamethasone as the active ingredient, which belongs to class of medications known as glucocorticoid steroidal drugs. Dexamethasone tablets exerts its anti-inflammatory mechanism by reducing or obstructing the body tissues from reacting to inflammatory signals and also alters the body's response to specific immune stimulation signals.
Dexona tablets are useful for the treatment of allergic conditions such as asthma, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, drug hypersensitivity reactions, perennial or seasonal allergic rhinitis, and serum sickness. Dexona tablets are also recommended for the treatment of dermatological (skin) diseases such as Bullous dermatitis herpetiformis, exfoliative erythroderma, mycosis fungoides, pemphigus, and severe erythema multiforme.
Treatment with Dexona tablets is prescribed in endocrine disorders such as primary or secondary adrenocortical insufficiency, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, hypercalcemia associated with cancer, and non-supportive thyroiditis. Dexona tablets are also recommended for the treatment of nervous system complications such as acute exacerbations of multiple sclerosis, cerebral edema associated with primary or metastatic brain tumour, craniotomy, or head injury. Treatment with Dexamethasone tablets is prescribed in ophthalmic diseases such as sympathetic ophthalmia, temporal arteritis, uveitis, and ocular inflammatory conditions unresponsive to topical corticosteroids. Dexamethasone Dosage - How to Take Dexona Tablets?
